A generous chunk (approx. 1.75" x 4") of honeycomb in a pint Mason jar, topped off with honey.\u00a0 This honeycomb comes from the frames that we take the 4"x4" cut comb from.\u00a0 Net weight is 1.5 pounds.\u00a0 Honey was traditionally sold this way as a guarantee of authenticity, due to the relative value of drawn and capped comb relative to honey.<\/p>\n
Due to the difficulty shipping these without breakage, this product is only available for local pickup and at farmer's markets.<\/p>\n

Honey with a generous chunk of comb, this old-timey packaging was an important proof of authenticity. Thinning out honey with other (cheap) syrups or even water was a common practice in the old days (and sadly persists today especially among imported honeys). If there’s honey comb in the jar, it’s a good sign the rest of the contents are real honey.<\/p>\n
Our chunk comb is packed n a 1-pint Mason jar, topped off with raw honey from the farm, for a total of 24 oz. net weight (honey is sold by weight, another hedge against doctoring as honey is about 1.5x the density of water).<\/p>\n
